In addition to our commentary, I author many of Fairway’s blog posts, set the agenda for our Investment Committee, perform manager due diligence, and tackle other investment research projects.

I hold the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation which means that I am well versed in manager due diligence, but also in portfolio construction. The CIMA is earned through the Investments & Wealth Institute, an organization I have been involved in via their Annual Conference and Membership committees.

Fairway’s manager due diligence efforts are powered largely by Morningstar Direct. Basic information on stocks and mutual funds can be found on Morningstar’s public website, but Morningstar Direct provides us with deeper information as well as the ability to turn that data into actionable analysis.

I live in Avon Lake with my wife, Carolyn, and our two sons – William and Matthew Junior. We enjoy being outside, especially to watch baseball games in the summer. My favorite morning beverage is coffee with a shot of espresso.
