Since co-founding Fairway in 2002, I’ve always worn a variety of hats and that continues today. I spend the majority of my time serving as wealth manager for about 50 client families, many of them now multi-generational relationships. It’s the part of my job that I like best and is the reason I’m in this business in the first place. In addition, I serve as the firm’s President and Chief Compliance Officer.

After starting my career as an auditor at Deloitte & Touche in 1993, I quickly realized auditing wasn’t my dream job. I had an epiphany one night that my lifelong interest in investing should lead to a career in financial planning. The timing coincided closely with Dan Gaugler being hired by Deloitte to launch their investment advisory business in Cleveland and I soon joined Dan’s private client group practice at Deloitte. As the son of a father and grandfather that both owned their own businesses, I had the entrepreneurial bug as well. So in June 2002, with a two year old and an 8-month pregnant wife, I left my nice salaried role at Deloitte to help found Fairway…with no clients, just a dream and what turned out to be a good business plan. I’m extremely proud of the firm and culture we have built and of the value and high touch service we provide our clients.

I’ve lived in Solon, OH since 1996, with my wife and our two now grown daughters. I’m an avid Cleveland and Ohio State sports fan, and try to remain an active athlete, playing a lot of tennis, as well as golf, skiing and running. I love to travel with my family and you’ll usually find me in the middle of a book or two, as well as binge-watching some TV show.  I’ve yet to grow up and learn to drink coffee, so my morning beverage of choice is my trusty Diet Coke.
